Intimations Sunday 20th November 2016
A warm welcome is extended to any visitors to our service today. There are welcome cards at the end of the pews. If you are a visitor please fill in one of these and place it in the offering plate. Soup, tea and coffee will be served in Hamilton Hall after the service and you are invited to join us for a short time of fellowship together. The Baptism of Anna daughter of Mr & Mrs Robert Baillie will take place today. We extend a warm welcome to any family and friends who are with us.
There is a prayer meeting in Hamilton Hall each Sunday at 11.10am. Please join us for a short time of prayer before the service. If you would like further information please speak to Sheena Archibald.
Bible study will meet tomorrow in Hamilton Hall at 11am.
Our Girls Brigade will not meet tomorrow night due to the schools being on holiday.
Our Boys Brigade will meet on Thursday night in Rorison.
Our Guild Christmas Fayre took place yesterday and raised the sum of £1201.20. Grateful thanks again to all who worked very hard to raise this great sum of money. Our Guild Scots night will take place in Rorison on Wednesday night when we shall be entertained by some visiting children and some of our own children. Tickets are £2.00 and are available from Kay.
It is with regret that we intimate the deaths of Miss Margaret Letham (Elder) and Mrs Jean Alexander who both died on Monday. Margaret’s funeral will take place on Thursday morning at 10.15am in the Co-op Funeral Parlour in Larkhall and then at Larkhall Cemetery at 11am. Jean’s funeral will take place on Wednesday morning at 9.15am in the Co-op Funeral Parlour in Larkhall and then at S.L.C. at 10.15am.
The annual subscription for the Bible reading notes “Every Day with Jesus” should be with Ann Carson today. The cost is £15.95. Please put the money in an envelope with your name and total amount enclosed. Any member who does not already receive a copy but would like one please speak to Ann.
The Nursing Homes shall be visited on Friday beginning at Clinton House at 1.30pm.
Diaries for 2017 are now available. These are on the front pew, please help yourself. Some of the details in the diary are wrong, but when our changes took place the 2017 diary had already gone to print. Changes will be made for 2018.
As mentioned over the past few weeks our Newsletter Editors have decided to retire. Mr David Gilchrist has offered to take this on and we the Kirk Session are pleased to accept. (Anyone not aware who David is he is the Session Clerk’s Son in Law)
Our warmest congratulations go to Emma Gilchrist for winning the Gold Medal and becoming Club Champion in her athletics for the second time.
